Art in Fusion: Art, Furniture, Poetry & Music

Art has always been a powerful medium of expression, a way to bridge gaps and connect with people from all walks of life. It has the ability to evoke emotions, spark conversations, and drive positive change. In a unique fusion of art, furniture, poetry, and music, we are excited to announce an event that aims to make a difference in the lives of those in need.

On May 27, 2023, an extraordinary collaboration took place, bringing together artists, furniture designers, poets, and musicians for a special cause. The event was held at Through Habit Vegan Store and Cafe, in support of Reach Out and Feed Philippines NGO, a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating hunger and poverty for children.

Daianne Moreno- Mempin of Katha Pilipinas and Danica Magat of Through Habit

The art exhibition showcased the talents of both established and emerging artists, presenting a diverse range of styles and mediums. Main participating artists were Aaron Virata Mempin (visual arts), Juan Ekis (poetry), and Jed Yabut (furniture). From contemporary paintings to intricate sculptures, each artwork tells a story and carries a profound message. Through this fusion of different artistic expressions, we hope it created an immersive experience that captivates and inspires.

Alongside the art exhibition of Aaron Virata Mempin, an array of beautifully crafted furniture pieces was showcased. These creations, designed by Jed Yabut Furniture, not only serve as functional pieces but also as works of art in themselves. Each piece is a marriage of form and function, combining aesthetic beauty with practicality.

As guests walked into the artist reception, they were greeted with an array of vibrant vegan wine and appetizers, specially prepared to tempt both the palate and the imagination. The fusion of art and cuisine provided a sensory experience that transcended expectations, leaving attendees in awe of the incredible talent on display. With every sip and bite, the profound impact of supporting the arts and embracing a sustainable lifestyle resonated, making it a night to remember.

To enhance the ambiance, poets recited the powerful verses written by Juan Ekis, adding an additional layer of depth and emotion to the event. Through their words, they weaved narratives that uplift the spirit, provoke thought, and ignite the imagination. Poetry has the ability to touch our souls, reminding us of the shared humanity that binds us all.

The artist reception also featured live musical performances, bringing melodies and rhythms that resonate with the art and poetry. Music, as an art form, has a universal language that transcends barriers and connects people from various backgrounds. From classical compositions to modern interpretations, the performances provided a symphony of emotions and set the tone for the entire event. The exhibition ran from May 27 to June 15, 2023.

Proceeds from the event was donated to Reach Out and Feed Philippines NGO to prepare nutritious vegan meals spearheaded by Through Habit . This contribution will aid in their efforts to provide nutritious meals and essential resources to underprivileged communities across the country. By attending the event, you not only got to experience an unforgettable fusion of art, furniture, poetry, and music but also play a vital role in making a positive impact on the lives of those less fortunate.
