YAKAN WEAVERS

Originally from Basilan, Madilyn Capin, along with master weaver Salma Ballati, are our sponsored Yakan weavers. They are now based in the Yakan Village, Zamboanga City, Mindanao, the southernmost part of the country.

Through their masterful work, we are able to showcase different products using their traditional handwoven patterns, all created with reverence to their heritage.

Supporting our indigenous tribes sustain their livelihood bridges the gap of distance and accessibility especially during the pandemic.
